PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
To all students, parents, faculty, and staff:
The Counseling Office has done an excellent job in programming students.  All class change requests have ceased and students should be attending classes.
The Attendance Office has been revamped to accommodate the district's Attendance Policy.  Any student with 3 or more unexcused absences or late to class 30 minutes three or more times will be counted as a truant.  Parent conferences will then begin.  If a student continues to be absent or tardy, the student will be referred to the district's Student Attendance Review Board.  This drastic measure may result in a transfer to another school or more serious consequences such as suspension of driving privileges or denial of participating in school related activities.  Remember to always bring a note from home after an absence and get an "EXCUSED ABSENCE" slip from the Attendance Office.
Thank you to the PTSA for hosting the Potluck Dinner for the New Parent Orientation.  Parental support has been the key to Wallenberg's success, and we hope to see more parents attend the Back-to-School Night on October 23.  Your first report cards will be distributed to your parents in Homeroom on Back-to-School Night.  Remember, this is a mandatory meeting for your parents to meet your teachers and inquire about your academic progress.
Historical Quiz:   Who was the school named after and for what significant act or deed is he famous?
Who was the first principal of Wallenberg?
                      When was the school started?

Dr. S. Hirabayashi, Principal
